Wheelchairs for Kids - Tsunami Appeal

The Wheelchairs for Kids Inc is a charity based in Western Australia that was set up by the Rotary Club of Scarborough and The Christian Brothers that manufacturers and donates wheelchairs around the world to those in need.

The Appeal that we are proposing will culminate in a Gala Banquet Auction at Rendevouz Observation City on Saturday April 16th 2005. Our target is to raise at least $250,000 to donate to the project to provide wheelchairs for those affected by the tsunami on December 26th 2004 during the appeal.

The Wheelchairs for Kids Inc Project prides itself on being able to say that no money donated specifically for wheelchair production in used in administration; currently the Rotary Club Scarborough and The Christian Brothers underwrite this and with the support of sponsoship partners we are looking to extend that to this appeal.

The workshop is run by over 60 volunteers who donate their time and skill to the project, our workshop manager is Br.Olly Pickett, the current Western Australian Volunteer of the Year and our patron is Dr.Fiona Wood who the current Western Australian of the Year and well is known for her work in burn and skin cell development.
